What information do we collect, what do we do with it, and how secure is it?

Our website is secured by a GeoTrust QuickSSL™ certificate to enable server security. When you purchase a product from us online, we store only the information needed to process your order and to respond to any concerns you may have about your order.  We save only the last 4 digits of your credit card in case we need to process a refund on the same credit card, but we have no access to the first twelve digits of your account number or the expiraton date or the CVV2 code from the back of your card.  The charge itself is processed securely through and First Data Corporation. Our website is PCI-compliant, and our PCI Certification Status is verified monthly by First Data® TransArmor®.

When you register your product, we save your name, e-mail address, and Registration Number in our Registration database.  We use this information to:  1) look up your Registration Number if ever you should lose it and ask us to retrieve it for you; 2) verify that you are a registered user when you request Tech Support assistance; and 3) help us solve any registration problems you may encounter.

If you register with a special Instructor Registration Number (clearly identified as such, included only in the complimentary materials we send to adopting instructors), we will also add your e-mail address to our Instructor E-mail List we use to notify instructors about updates, upgrades, or new programs from MacGAMUT Music Software, Inc.  If you do not want to receive these informative updates (we only send out one or two a year unless there is a major problem or bug fix that instructors need to know about immediately), just e-mail and ask to be removed from this special Instructor E-mail List.

When you request info or tech support or provide us with info through our website, we will use the information you submit to contact you in response to your request.  Any information collected during this process is kept confidential and secure.

We also collect general info about visits to our website (e.g., time of day, day of the week, what pages were accessed) to help us improve our website, but such information in no way identifies you.

Who has access to my information?

We will not share any of your information with anyone outside of MacGAMUT Music Software, other than as necessary to process your payment.  Only those MacGAMUT employees who require the information to perform a specific job (e.g., billing or customer service) have access to personally identifiable information.  In addition, on rare occasions, we may be compelled to disclose specific information upon governmental request, in response to a court order, or when required by law to do so.  We may also share information with companies assisting in fraud protection or investigation. Other than those necessary kinds of “sharing,” we will never sell, rent, loan, or share your information with anyone else.

How secure is my credit card information?

We use encryption technology to ensure the secure transmission of any credit card information you provide through our website.  All credit card transactions at our site are conducted using 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption.  You can easily determine when you're sending data securely by looking at the web address (URL) in your browser window:  the first few letters will change from "http" to "https" when you are transmitting information protected by SSL encryption.  The "s" in "https" stands for "secure."  While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. We save only the last 4 digits of your credit card in case we need to process a refund on the same credit card, but we have no access to the first twelve digits of your account number or the expiraton date or the CVV2 code from the back of your card.  The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.  In addition, we have various physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information you have shared with us.  Nevertheless, if you have any doubts at all about the security of our online ordering process, please feel free to place your order by phone instead.

Can I ask you to delete my information?

Certainly.  Just keep in mind that if we delete your Registration Number, you will no longer be able to receive a replacement data file, which is the key to using your the product you purchased.

What can I do if I’m worried about the privacy or security of my information?
